Driving an F1-style single-seater racing car is unlike anything else. You're strapped into the open cockpit with your legs stretched out into the nose of the car, the steering wheel in front of you and the gearstick between your legs. You're only a couple of inches off the ground and you'll know it; you can feel every bump and vibration and you'll have to fight not to oversteer, as your super-responsive car reacts to every tiny adjustment you make. This is driving at its limits, as done by the pros; just you and the car. Your experience starts with a safety briefing about high-speed driving. At selected locations you'll warm up with a session in a race-prepared sports saloon or sports car with your instructor, to learn the racing line and hone your circuit driving technique. Then you'll strap in to the single-seater, driving solo, putting all the theory into practice. No-one can hear you saying 'vroom', so just take control and enjoy the experience.

Once you've driven a Ferrari, no other car comes close. Experience the phenomenal acceleration, braking and handling of Maranello's breathtaking beauties. You'll kick off with a briefing and then your instructor will drive you on some training laps in a hot hatch to learn the racing lines and see circuit driving techniques in action. What you do next depends on the venue: Donington Park or Three Sisters Circuit drive seven miles in a Ferrari 360 followed by eight miles in a hot hatch and finish with eight miles in a single-seater racing car (23 miles). At Prestwold Hall drive four laps each in a Ferrari 550 and F360 Spider (16.2 miles). At Thruxton or Croft drive three laps in a Porsche Cayman, four laps in a Ferrari 355 plus five laps in a single-seater (28.8 miles). At Rockingham drive an F360 for six miles on track and a single-seater for another 25 miles. Finish with a high-speed passenger ride at some venues.

Once the car's controls have been explained and you are strapped in, you'll head out onto the Silverstone track, behind a pace car, to get used to the Formula First's sensitive steering, the racing lines and acceleration. Your second driving session is back on track for a further 20 minutes to really go for it, without the pace car. Conclude with a debrief, driver assessment and certificate presentation.
