The Eye of the Needle is the story behind Gossypium & throws new light on some of the secrets of the clothing industry.

Originally written as the basis of an Arts & Business South East award-winning children's drama workshop, The Eye of the Needle has now been beautifully illustrated & published.

The story is written as a journey & in language accessible to children, at the same time enchanting adults with its vivid descriptions and timeless story. Abigail Petit, co-founder of Gossypium, shares her experiences of learning about the way that clothes are made through her descriptions of meetings with growers, weavers, embroiderers, dyers, sewers and printers.

Her messages are graphic, personable and imaginative.

The Eye of the Needle explains the role of ethically produced and traded cotton as solutions to many of the problems with future clothing production. The story serves to disguise what is an informed and complete expose of how far our global clothing production and consumption has strayed from its sustainable source.
