Your experience starts outside the centre, where your falconer runs through what you can expect from the evening. Then you'll go on a tour of the owl wood, where you'll see your first owls in their aviaries, and hear them start their spooky evening calls. Back at the centre, enjoy a light snack of soup and sandwiches, before getting up close and personal with these magnificent birds. You'll handle at least four different species, learning all about them, and having some great photo opportunities. Horse riding is a perfect way to spend some quality time together as a family - it's relaxing, exciting, refreshingly outdoorsy and a brilliant way to introduce the kids to a new hobby. Parents can even get involved. Novices and experienced riders alike will love this riding day. After being introduced to their ponies the instructor will teach the youngsters how to tack up before heading out for a half hour lesson within the grounds and an assessment of their abilities in order to best plan a follow up activity. Then the adults get their chance by leading their children on a hack (including walk and trot) in countryside or woodland (cantering is not permitted outside the arenas during initial visits). The children have an hour and a half riding time, followed by soup and sandwiches for all of you - riding can be pretty physical and there's nothing like fresh air to make people hungry! At the end everyone has the opportunity to groom a horse and maybe give it a treat to say thank you!
