We know that spending an hour in a tank of water might sound at first like a David Blaine-style stunt - but in fact this experience is about total relaxation. Each of you will enter your own quiet, darkened room and lie in a tank in a warm solution of Epsom salts, about 10 inches deep and so dense that you'll float effortlessly (no need to be able to swim!). Epsom salts are made from naturally occurring minerals and have long been renowned for their health and beauty benefits, including easing stress and soothing muscles. Gentle music will play to help you wind down, and you'll drift into a near-meditative state of complete calm. Afterwards you can take a refreshing shower before returning to the outside world feeling utterly chilled out.

Participant Guidelines: Some venues specify minimum age 16 to 18. Do advise us of any skin conditions (salty water can sting!). You are in total control of your environment at all times and don't need to be able to swim. Women in the initial stage of pregnancy may be precluded.
Duration: You'll spend about an hour relaxing in the floatation tank, but allow for another half an hour afterwards to shower, get dressed and have some refreshments to prepare you for the outside world again.
Numbers On Day: You will each be alone in your own private float rooms, complete with a private shower.
Dress Code: You will be on your own in your own private float rooms, so you don't have to wear a swimming costume unless you want to. A private shower and towels will be provided for you.
Availability: Most centres are open seven days a week and many during evenings and weekends.
