Two bottles of Montes Limited Selection Pinot Noir Casablanca: really lovely forward ripe red berry fruits form the core of this wine, together with bright, expressive sweet fruit. It's ripe and smooth, but light and fresh at the same time. Two bottles of Villa Cafaggio Chainti Classico DOCG: a smooth, elegant, rather understated nose with red fruits dominant. The palate shows pure fruit with a savoury, spicy depth, earthy and structured. Finally, two bottles of Senorio de Los Llanos Crianza DO Valdepenas: pale coloured, with soft, sweet fruit backed up by some vanilla and coconut notes. A lighter style of red that's soft and approachable. Delicious.
