Zapcat Experience for Two

HLWMT
2 hrs
£145
  • Two hours racing around in a zapcat
  • Zapcats are light, fast and incredibly manoeuvrable
  • The ride of your life with your instructor at the helm
  • Depending on the weather, you get to take the helm yourself
  • Includes a thrilling ride in a RIB powerboat

You're into speed, you're into extreme, and you don't mind getting really wet? Head out onto the water in a zapcat! They're lightweight inflatable catamaran hulls with racing engines attached, which makes them amazingly stable and secure, even at high speeds, round tight corners and in conditions from ranging from complete calm to large breaking surf (in fact, they were developed originally from life-saving surf rescue craft). Your experience will begin with a briefing on safety and handling, before you head out onto the water with your instructor. He or she will show you exactly what this fantastic craft can do - so prepare for the ride of your life as you speed along, pull tight manoeuvres and hit big air jumps. Depending on the weather and at the instructor's discretion, you might also get the chance to take the helm and try your hand at powering the zapcat across open water. There's a RIB powerboat on standby acting as a support boat, and you'll get a thrilling ride on this too.

Location:

Brighton, East Sussex

More information

Participant Guidelines: Minimum age is 16 and a minimum height of 5'4''. You must be a confident swimmer. This is an extreme sport and if you have any back or neck problems you won't be able to take part.
Weather: This experience may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions which would make racing at speed dangerous. Please call the venue if in any doubt.
Duration: Can last for up to two hours (dependent on total numbers on the boat and the weather). There will be up to 20 minutes of driving time in the zap cats, the rest of the time you will be a passenger or in the support boat.
Numbers On Day: There will be up to 10 people taking part - three per Zap Cat including an instructor, with a maximum of two Zap Cats and two support boats out on the water.
Spectators: Guests are welcome at the marina. Facilities are excellent, including restaurants, a multiplex cinema and jetties packed with high-performance and luxury powerboats. Once you are out in the open water spectators will need binoculars to follow the action.
Dress Code: Bring a swimming costume, towel and pair of old trainers (that you do not mind getting wet). If it's hot bring sunscreen, if it's cold bring plenty of warm dry clothes to change into. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets are provided.
Availability: Selected Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer season (May to October).
Other Info: Please don't automatically expect to take the helm - weather conditions might mean that only the instructor can drive the craft safely. Sunglasses with a safety strap can be useful as they will help keep spray out of your eyes.
