Driving an F1-style single-seater racing car is unlike anything else. You're strapped into the open cockpit with your legs stretched out into the nose of the car, the steering wheel in front of you and the gearstick between your legs. You're only a couple of inches off the ground and you'll know it; you can feel every bump and vibration and you'll have to fight not to oversteer, as your super-responsive car reacts to every tiny adjustment you make. This is driving at its limits, as done by the pros; just you and the car. Your experience starts with a safety briefing about high-speed driving. At selected locations you'll warm up with a session in a race-prepared sports saloon or sports car with your instructor, to learn the racing line and hone your circuit driving technique. Then you'll strap in to the single-seater, driving solo, putting all the theory into practice. No-one can hear you saying 'vroom', so just take control and enjoy the experience.

You'll chat through any specific requirements with your instructor so that the flight can be tailored to what you want (and how brave you're feeling). Then don a Biggles-style flying jacket before climbing into the cockpit of a vintage 1930s Stampe SV4 aircraft. The Stampe is a classic Belgian version of the English Tiger Moth and the model you'll fly in has been lovingly restored. Feel the rush of the wind from the open cockpit as your pilot puts the plane through a breathtaking full aerobatic sequences (subject to weather conditions and at the pilot's discretion). You'll also have the opportunity to take the controls yourself and discover the sensation that has made generations of flyers fall in love with these great little planes. Once the car's controls have been explained and you are strapped in, you'll head out onto the Silverstone track, behind a pace car, to get used to the Formula First's sensitive steering, the racing lines and acceleration. Your second driving session is back on track for a further 20 minutes to really go for it, without the pace car. Conclude with a debrief, driver assessment and certificate presentation.

Next you'll warm up with three laps of Knockhill's 1.3-mile championship racetrack in a Seat Ibiza Cupra to hone your circuit driving technique, followed by two demonstration laps by your instructor in a Seat Leon. Then you'll strap in to a Honda Blackbird single-seater, driving solo for seven laps. There's a trophy for the best driver of the day, and everyone receives a certificate.
