Quad biking is some of the best, messiest fun you can have in the countryside. After a thorough safety briefing you'll get kitted out in protective clothing and be introduced to your quad. To start off with you'll be driving on level ground round a marked circuit while you get a feel for the quad. As you gain experience - and bottle - you'll be able to shift up a gear and soon you'll be power sliding round the turns like you were born on the bike. Then take off on a quad safari for a taste of what quad biking is really about, venturing across woodland tracks, through water pools and up and down steep slopes (subject to your driving ability) with your instructors keeping a close eye on you all the way. Your session will end with a debrief and the chance to get cleaned up. The bikes are usually Honda 250ESs - a utility machine with five forward gears operated by electric thumb shift - or Sportrax 90s - smaller, sports-tuned quads.

Let's be honest, golf is not an easy sport to master. There is nothing terribly intuitive about hitting a tiny ball with a long stick, so even experienced players can sometimes benefit from some coaching - and with this experience we're confident that your game will come on in leaps and bounds (or should that be drives and putts?). Your day starts with a three hour session with a golf professional, covering all aspects of set up and basic swing techniques. This is followed by an analysis of your performance, either by video or using Explanar, a unique swing training system. After a well-earned lunch you'll practise chipping, bunker play and putting. The itinerary may change slightly on the day, depending on the standard of the participants, but we guarantee that you'll end up better golfers! You'll also have access to an email golf helpline service for the three months following your experience (maximum six emails each).

It's like a cross between water-skiing, snowboarding and surfing (it used to be called skurfing, but that sounded silly). You're pulled across the water by hanging onto a cable, but unlike water-skiing you're attached to a single wide board and it's also a bit slower. So it's perfect for anyone who wants to try a new sport and doesn't mind getting very wet indeed. After a full safety briefing, you'll be on the water and round the cable. You'll start off knee-boarding, which will help you get to grips with the basics and put the theory into practice. The tricky bit is taking corners, but once you've got the hang of that you'll be up on your feet and whizzing around on your wakeboard in no time, experiencing the adrenaline rush of flying across the water.
